Integrated Management System and Standards (IMSS)

Client

BOC Gases are one of the Worlds largest prducers of Gas and Gas products. This project involved BOC offices in three continents, Europe, America and Australasia.

Requirements

BOC had an existing system on a Documentum EDMS 98 installation and required the system to be ported to a new Documentum 4i installation whilst maintaining the existing functionality and WorkSpace customisations. The existing system had about 7gb of data to be transferred and minimal down-time was an important pre-requisite for the transfer process.

Solution

Working closely together, Knowhow Consulting and BOC were able to develop a timescale for installation of the new system and transfer of the existing data to the new Documentum Server. A thorough investigation of all customisation code was conducted to indentify potential problem areas and ensure it would continue to work as before after the transfer.

Results

Implementing the migration plan, the new server was installed and tested using a section of the existing data and all code tested and corrected prior to the transfer. BOC reported no issues following the transfer and downtime and the system and users were working normally again within a week.
